China's Safety Standards for Security Surveillance Systems

225 wordsFeikui News

As the security industry grows, surveillance equipment is installed in more and more environments — and security systems are graded by protection level. Modern monitoring and maintenance rely on advanced security and system-integration technology: systems should be forward-looking, expandable and network-ready, suited to distributed architectures, with shared hardware and software resources, stable operation on site, and easy operation.

Protection levels

Under the risk-grading rules, hotels are classified as Level-1 risk sites and must use a Class-1 security alarm system. Per the public-security requirements, such a system must provide three basic functions:

  • Monitor the status of transmission lines and detectors, and display alarm locations;
  • When multiple alarms occur simultaneously, display and record every alarm signal and its location — no missed or false records;
  • For protected areas and key sites, support image and audio verification, recording, storage and printing.

System composition

By function and management characteristics, a comprehensive security system covers three zones:

  • Public areas: elevators and escalators, main entrances and corridors, garage access, lobbies, external doors, fire exits;
  • Critical rooms: storerooms, finance office, archives, executive offices, computer and communication equipment rooms;
  • Facility areas: monitoring & management centre, generator room, power distribution, communication and HVAC rooms, floor weak-current shafts.

Public and critical areas must meet the Class-1 security requirements of GB38-92; key facility areas must be under focused monitoring sufficient to keep the premises running safely.
